Mom & Sister Visit wrap-up: Part Three

30 May

This is the last of the “Mom & Sister wrap-up.”

1. We went to my 2nd cousin, Julia’s, play on Mother’s Day. She played a mouse in “Beauty and the Beast.” She got flowers after, and I swear to you, she acts just for the flowers. Very cute.

2. John and I with Julia

3. Mom, Sami, Julia, and I.

4. Julia and her parents & grandma.

5. Of course I had to teach Julia jumping pictures! Or my mom might have suggested it. I don’t remember.

6. Sami and Julia blowing Dandelions.

7. More jumping. (Notice my cousin in the background walking towards us.)

8. Noreen (my cousin) was like “What are you doing?!” And then she joined in. lol!

And that’s the vacation! This week has been crazy busy, so it was nice looking back on my vacation. The next one cannot come soon enough. 🙂

Niagara Falls & A Tag/Quiz Thing

28 May

1. Whoo! Almost there! It only took about an hour to get to the falls from my house.

2. Mom, Sami, and I on the Maid of the Mist. (That’s why we have matching ponchos.) Look, a rainbow!

3. All the yellow ponchos were for this other tourist attraction that we wanted to go to, but by the time we got there, the attraction was closed. 😦

4. JUMPING PICTURES ARE THE BEST! Sami and I jumping.

5. Sami “holding me up with one hand.”

6. Mom and I smelling pretty flowers by the Niagara Falls tourist information center.

BATTLE @ NIAGARA!

—————————————–
Shelley tagged me to “fill in the blanks.” My fill in “answers” are bold:

1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to run outside.

2. Greenery and sunshine reminds me that summer is almost here!

3. I cannot live without my computer.

4. Kayaking and cooking from scratch are two things I’d like to try.

5. When life hands you lemons try not to make a stupid face.

6. Capture the flag across four yards is my favorite childhood memory.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to a Mary Kay day/morning of makeup, tomorrow my plans include uploading photos and Sunday, cleaning!

Mom & Sister Visit wrap-up: Part One

26 May

Why hello there!  I know I’ve been away for a while, but real life was just kicking the crap out of me.  My sewing machine is broken, and I haven’t gotten the hang of crochet yet, so I don’t have anything really crafty to show you.  This week is going to be pictures from when my mom and sister were here.

1.  The Lilac Festival is a HUGE deal here.  Tons of people come from out of town/state (like my mom) to see it.  And we picked the best day to go.  The sun was shining bright and it smelled wonderful!

2. Mom and I parked at a college and took a shuttle over so we wouldn’t have to worry about parking.  We were so preoccupied with the length of the line, that we didn’t make note of which part of the parking lot we’d parked it.  It was NOT easy finding the car when we got back, lol.

3. Lilacs!  With the festival behind it.

4. Any time we go to a festival (Irish fest, Lilac fest, etc.) we ALWAYS get fried dough.  Yummy!

Hope you have a lovely day everyone!  The weather is beautiful here.  I want to go on a picnic!  But I’ll have to be satisfied with making bread and serving it on this great platter I bought thrifting the other day.

Guests

8 May

1. You can tell we have guests because the kitchen table is in the living room, lol. It’s so weird seeing it when I come down the stairs each morning, but all four of us couldn’t fit around the table if it was in the kitchen.

2. I don’t know if I posted my little collection of wooden plaques, but the Norman Rockwell print inspired a new little collection.

3. We went thrifting last night and found two Norman Rockwell prints for pretty cheap. I was super excited, and now I have a little gallery in my kitchen. Well, I will once John installs some shelves in the kitchen. Then I will know where to space them.

4. We also got, of course, some new little things for my minis collection. Although, the middle plate on the top shelf isn’t so much a mini… but it was a really pretty, and I think it makes the black and white bowl stick out less.

5. John has been taking a wood working class, and he completed his speaker boxes that he’s been planning to make FOREVER, but couldn’t because he didn’t have the tools. They came out really well, and who doesn’t love more storage?! (They’re the towers on each side of the TV unit.)

Yay!

5 May

My mom and sister are going to be here tomorrow!  Hopefully their being here will inspire me to take some photos.

The weather has been so yucky this past week… I hope it gets better.  (But I don’t think it will.  Sadness!)

I have tomorrow and Wednesday off.  Hooray!  I really need a break.

Sorry about the text only post.
